A site needs tools before it needs decoration. The current shelf holds a warm black ground, paper panels, copper calls to action, heavy headings, and a grid that behaves on small screens.
None of this is ornamental in the polite sense. The visual system should make the place feel like it has weight, dust, and a reason for asking you to read one more line.
If the interface starts sounding like a tour guide trapped in a factory, that is only because the factory has unusually strong opinions about hierarchy.
